CLASSES

Whether you are a kitchen novice or an old pro looking for some inspiration, Chef Wylie’s classes will whip you into culinary shape. Classes focus on cooking fundamentals that will help you prep faster, cook smarter, and eat better. Chef Wylie brings everything to your home, sets it up, and cleans up afterwards.

Each class is approximately two hours long and begins with a thorough demonstration. Each student will get some hands-on time with the ingredients and a sample of everything prepared. There are take-home recipes for every class.

Knife Skills
Beginner
Reduce your cooking prep time by half! This class shows you how to buy knives, keep them sharp, and slice and dice vegetables like a pro. ($30/person, $150 min)
   
   
Crock Pot Cooking
Beginner
Food cooked in a crock pot is hard to overcook and needs no supervision- making it the perfect way to cook for kitchen novices or people on the go. Learn Chef Wylie’s secrets to delicious and healthy crock pot cooking. ($40/person, $180 min)
   
   
Simple Sauces
Beginner
Looking for a way to jazz up your chicken breast or add some zing to those pork chops? Chef Wylie shows some quick and easy sauces made from fresh ingredients including Viareggio secret seafood sauce, pistou, roasted red pepper, chimichurri, Thai lemon grass, and green curry. World’s Fastest & Easiest Pasta Sauces
Beginner
Are you in a Marinara rut? Discover some new and easy ways to perk up your pastas that won’t take all day slaving over the stove. This class is great for busy professionals or busy moms who want something fresh and quick with a minimum of time and effort. ($45/person, $200 min)
   
   
Create Your Own Signature Chili Powder
Beginner
The key to truly great chili is freshly ground and toasted spices and a custom blend of your favorite types of chilies. Each participant will get to blend their own custom chili powder and take it home in a personalized tin, as well as learn proper techniques for making Chef Wylie’s Bison Chili. Quick and Easy Entertaining
Beginner/Intermediate
Are you tired of the same old veggie tray? Want to spice up your events a bit, but not spend all day in the kitchen? Chef Wylie demonstrates some simple and elegant hors d’oeuvres, canapés, and dips. ($45/person, $200 min)
   
   
Fresh Pasta
Intermediate
Blow your dinner guests’ minds with fresh pastas you made by hand. It isn’t hard once you know a few basic rules. This class covers semolina, spinach, and decadent truffle oil pasta dough that you learn how to shape into tagliatelle, farfalle, cavatelli, lasagne, and maltagliate. ($40/person, $180 min)
   
   
Fresh Raviolis
Intermediate
It is highly recommended to complete the Fresh Pasta class as a prerequisite to this class because we will start with already-prepared fresh pasta sheets to create custom-filled raviolis in various shapes and with various fillings, including roasted butternut squash and lemon-sage mascarpone. ($40/person, $180 min)
   
   
Fear of Fish
Intermediate
Does the thought of selecting and preparing fresh fish intimidate you? You are not alone. Chef Wylie will go over the basics of purchasing fresh fish and the techniques for preparing them. ($70/person, $300 min)
   
   
Basic Braising

Impress your family with a stunning main course that you can make ahead of time. This class will cover the skills necessary to create such luscious, slow-simmered dishes as Coq au Vin and Osso Buco. ($70/person, $300 min)

Get thrifty and give gifts that show you care. Learn to make a variety of sweet treats that are perfect for gift-giving. In this class we learn to make Sweet & Spicy Candied Walnuts, Bittersweet Chocolate Covered Almonds, Hand-Rolled Grand Marnier Truffles, and more. ($40/person, $180 min)
   
   
I Heart Tarts
Intermediate
Learn to create flawless tart shells and then fill them with custards, seasonal fruits, and my personal favorite – salted caramel and bittersweet chocolate. ($40/person, $180 min)
   
   
Chocolate Desserts 101
Intermediate/Advanced
In this class we tackle some chocolate classics: Chocolate Soufflés, luscious Cocoa Crème Brulees, and Gianduija Cake with Chocolate Ganache. ($45/person, $200 min)
   

Make a Meal Together

These classes focus on making a full meal together. They are great for a family gathering or a dinner party with friends. At the end of the class, the participants sit down to sample their creations. Most menus are customized for the participants and the season. For these classes, Chef Wylie charges an hourly rate for the time spent, plus gives you any and all grocery receipts for reimbursement (no markup).
